Police in St. John's, N.L., say a firebombing and drive-by shooting in the usually low-crime city are the result of the Hells Angels trying to set up shop.
Residents in a quiet subdivision were startled Friday night by a barrage of assault rifle fire.
"I felt really safe. I felt like Iˆwas in a good neighbourhood, and it's really frightening," one resident of Kenmount Terrace told the Telegram newspaper. "It's really spooky. You don't expect this stuff to happen here,"
Someone armed with an assault rifle sprayed two homes and a vehicle with bullets, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said. Police believe the assailants mistakenly targeted the wrong home in a feud between rival drug dealers.
This comes after a car was firebombed Friday morning in a residential area. Police believe the car fire is connected to the shooting.
