Two people were shot to death and two others were not expected to survive their gunshot wounds suffered in a fracas outside Stinger's Bar & Nightclub and a nearby gas station in San Bernardino early Wednesday, March 4.
Three others were shot, and their vital signs were stable, according to Lt. Rich Lawhead of the San Bernardino Police Department.
No one had been arrested as of late Wednesday afternoon. Lawhead said police recovered good physical evidence of the crime, including surveillance video from both locations.
Members of the Deuces motorcycle club -- police called it a gang -- were inside Stinger's about 11 p.m. Tuesday when members of another gang showed up. The security guard, recognizing that out-of-town gang as rivals to the Deuces, wouldn't let the gang members inside, so they left, Lawhead said.
As people were leaving the nightclub about 1:30 a.m. after the 1 a.m. closing, the security guard noticed the rival gang outside and called police. Lawhead estimated that 200 people were at Stinger's. Some 20-30 shots were fired outside as police neared the nightclub at 194 W. Club Center Drive.
One person died at the scene, Lawhead said.
About 10 minutes later, someone was shot to death at an ARCO gas station at the corner of Redlands Boulevard and Waterman Avenue.
All of the dead, and those that suffered "extremely critical" injuries, were Deuces members. It was unclear whether Deuces members fired their weapons, Lawhead said.
Susan Onuma, director of public relations at Loma Linda University Medical Center, said five people were treated there and one person was hospitalized at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. She declined to say anything else.
The dead were males in their 20s, Lawhead said. The gravely wounded were a female and male, both in their 20s.
Lawhead said it was not immediately clear whether Deuces members fired weapons.
A woman outside Loma Linda University Medical Center identified one of the deceased as a friend, Jerry Jackson.
Alexus Bizcarra, of Highland, who said she lived near Jackson for several years, said Jackson had been a member of the Deuces for a couple of years. She said he died at the hospital.
Bizcarra said the Deuces go to Stinger's every Tuesday. She said club members are not violent.
