Police hope they may have smashed a new bikie chapter trying to establish a foothold north of Brisbane.
Six alleged Rebels bikies were arrested on Tuesday after a tip-off the gang was trying to recruit members in a Redcliffe hotel for a new Moreton Bay chapter.
Among the arrests were the alleged president and sergeant of arms of the new gang branch.
Only two are facing charges of recruiting, with the other four charged with a variety of offences following police raids in Eatons Hill, Scarborough and Redcliffe.
Taskforce Maxima Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said he hoped the arrests would put an end to the new venture but police would continue to monitor and investigate.
He alleged the recruiting targeted "a number of young men" across a couple of weeks last month at a hotel near the Redcliffe waterfront.
