A man who was shot in the neck in Sydney's south a fortnight ago has been murdered just a few streets away.

Eighteen-year-old Bassil Hijazi died after being shot at Albyn Street in Bexley last night.

Hijazi, who had links to the Comancheros bikie gang, narrowly survived a shooting in the same suburb a fortnight ago.

Police say they do not believe the shooting is linked to another killing last night, in which a 35-year-old was shot dead in Earlwood.

The killings come amid a bikie turf war between the Hells Angels and Comancheros.

Witness saw slain teenager lying on the ground

Police were called to Albyn Street in Bexley at about 10:00pm.

Hijazi had been shot a number of times, and was declared dead on arrival at hospital.

Local resident Fatima Mourad said she saw his body lying on the ground.

"I just saw Bassil on the floor," she said.

"I've pulled into the street and he was just lying flat on his back."

Ms Mourad said she was concerned for her family's safety.

"It's quite sad because he's young and all this just needs to stop," she said.

"We've got children and we don't want this to continue."

A police spokeswoman confirmed the teenager was taken to hospital, but died on arrival.

"A crime scene has been established and is being examined by specialist forensic officers," she said.

"Detectives from St George Local Area Command and State Crime Command's Homicide Squad are investigating the incident."

Second victim had been shot just half an hour earlier

In last night's first shooting, a 35-year-old was shot on Charleston Avenue in Earlwood, in Sydney's inner-west.

He was taken to St George Hospital with a number of gunshot wounds and underwent surgery, but he died early this morning.

Police do not believe the man had links to bikie gangs.

Homicide Commander Mick Willing has appealed for information on both incidents.

"We do not believe that those two shootings were linked," he said.

"But what I can say is this. People out there know who is responsible for the deaths of those persons overnight.

"The persons responsible for these crimes do not care about the public.

"They are reckless.

"We do care and that's why I'm standing here this morning again asking for assistance from the public in solving these crimes."

Federal western Sydney MP and Minister for Home Affairs Jason Clare says bikie gangs are fighting a war on the streets.

"People of western Sydney, people of Sydney are worried about this and I'm worried about it as well," he said.

"I'm worried that a day will come where an innocent person is caught in the crossfire, where an innocent person is shot, not another member of an outlaw motorcycle gang.

"You've got a war going on on the streets of western Sydney between different motorcycle gangs fighting over drugs and fighting over turf."
