Two WA Rebels members have been charged after police in Sydney’s west were threatened when they approached a group of bikies on Friday.
The officers — from the Police Transport Command — were walking near a shopping centre in Parramatta about 10.30am on Friday, before noticing a group of people believed to be associated with outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Police approached three of the men in the group and spoke to them in the shopping centre, where it is alleged one of the men, a 43-year-old, threatened and intimidated the officers before the group left the area.
A series of inquiries led to Strike Force Raptor and riot squad officers descending on a Parramatta hotel later that day, where they searched eight Rebels members and three associates.
Two WA men were arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station. The men, 43 and 48, were both charged with affray and participating in a criminal group.
The 43-year-old was also charged with intimidating a police officer in the execution of duty and stalking/intimidating with the intent to fear physical harm.
The men were granted conditional bail and are due to appear at the Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, September 26.
