UPDATE: Police performed seven separate drug raids across Toowoomba today, at least one having links to the Life and Death outlaw motorcycle gang.

Eight arrests on 12 drug-related charges have been made so far after seven co-ordinated raids were executed.

Several more arrests are expected to be made in the coming days.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Scott Stahlhut said police would continue to crack down on drug and bikie-related crime.

"This is all part of an ongoing investigation," he said, referring to Operation Kilo Agitator, which began in July last year.

Among the seven properties raided yesterday was a home across the road from the Federal Hotel on James St.

A man believed to be a nominee for Life and Death watched on as police carried out their search.

The man wore the uniform vest, but did not appear to have earned full patch status.

Once the probationary period has passed, members of motorcycle gangs are allowed to wear the full uniform including a logo patch.

Life and Death's logo patch features a love heart punctured by a sword, with a snake coiled around it, and the words "Live to Ride".

Det Stahlhut said among yesterday's arrests were a 27-year-old man charged with possession of dangerous drugs and a 33-year-old man charged with common assault.

The operation was a co-operative effort involving the Toowoomba CIB, the Tactical Crime Squad and dog squads from both Toowoomba and Brisbane.

On Tuesday, police alleged in court that Life and Death member Benjimin Brett Waters, 27, assaulted officers after they pulled him over on a Toowoomba street.

They claimed a knife was found Waters' pocket, but was not used in the scuffle.
Waters received bail and will reappear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on July 2.

A fortnight ago, police launched a series of raids targeting the club around the Darling Downs.

A former president of Life and Death's Toowoomba chapter and a Roma-based nominee for the gang were charged with trafficking dangerous drugs.

A 49-year-old Toowoomba member of the gang and a 42-year-old gang member were also charged with various drug and weapon offences.

Raids on properties including homes at Hodgson Vale, Kleinton, Pittsworth, Toowoomba and Helidon Spa netted 21 people on 43 charges.

Police and the dog squad are still carrying out investigations at the home across the road from the Federal Hotel.
