Bradley Summers to remain in custody two more weeks, pending bail hearing
An alleged associate of the Hells Angels arrested earlier this month will spend another two weeks behind bars before he has a bail hearing.
Bradley Summers, 37, has agreed to stay in custody until arrangements are made for him to apply for bail.
Summers is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a dangerous weapon, and careless use of a weapon, with the weapon in question alleged to be a handgun, according to court documents. He's also charged with breaking and entering a home on White Place in Mount Pearl earlier this month, with the intention to commit an offence.
Police had responded to a report of trouble involving weapons in the neighbourhood, but no weapons were recovered and no charges were laid. Summers was reportedly arrested at a St. John’s business two days later in connection with that investigation.
Summers is well known to police. Five years ago he was arrested in connection with a joint RNC/RCMP investigation into outlaw motorcycle gangs. He, along with Al Potter, was charged with assault and uttering threats.
Potter and Summers were reportedly living in a Hamilton Avenue home that had been firebombed a month earlier.
This past May, 26-year-old Dustin Etheridge and 34-year-old John Squires were arrested and charged with conspiring to murder Summers, along with weapons charges related to a loaded handgun. They are still in custody as their case makes its way through the courts.
